However we have decided to celebrate the occasion on Saturday 9th March.
Why not drop in and raise a glass or two with us.
Would be great to see you all.
We want to thank everyone for their support throughout the years. We couldn't have done it without you all.
We have lost a few good friends along the way and will raise a glass to them.
Once again thank you to everyone that’s dropped in for a little tipple over the last 9 years

SPLIT CHIMP is no longer

Newcastle's first micropub has shut up shop after 8 years because of all the issues that are becoming all too familiar to anybody trying to survive, not just micropubs.

Increases in energy costs, the rent and the council tax have all taken their toll.

A blackboard at the Split Chimp quotes:

Rent: £19,500 > £29,950
Rates: £11,500 > £38,780

Other issues that are also a dampener to trading are also quoted.

Thanks for the enjoyable times over the last 8 years.
