Rat Race Ale House
Hartlepool Railway Station
After over 16 years at the Rat, Peter is retiring for the second time, this time permanently.
Most of us will be sorry to see him go. Definitley the end of an era for real ale in Hartlepool, with nothing in the pipeline to follow it, until somebody notices the gap in the market.
The last opening day is Saturday 21st March.
Some of us are meeting up on Wednesday 18th March from 12.02 onwards to toast his and Katie's good health, as they set off to a small town about 4 hours, by car, south of Paris.
Please feel free to join us.

CAMRA NE Regional Meeting and
Branch Pub of the Year 2025 award presentation.
Thanks to all at the Tipsy Turtle, (31st May), for a great day, and especially to Aidy, Stan and Megan, who had a great system to ensure that none of the assembled horde were queuing at the bar for our drinks, even though three behind the bar is a bit of a squeeze. And four great beers as well.
Also a big thank you for the kind hospitality that was provided and which obvioulsy helped to absorb some of the liquor.
Now its time for the judging for the Regional Pub of the Year.
