THE ANCHOR INN, GUISBOROUGH
As about the only Sam Smith's real ale outlet in the area, the Anchor Inn remains close at heart to its dedicated drinkers.
Sam Smiths pubs hold many distinct traditions, which we can admire in this day and age of 'fast' everything, such that a Friends of the Anchor group has now been created, with a view to ensuring nothing changes. So it's no one armed bandits, no mobile phones and real ales sold from the wood in traditional 18 gallon casks..

WhatPub describes it as:
A Victorian conversion of two substantial terraced houses, this friendly locals' pub is a classic example of Sam Smith's ethos of combining tradition with tremendous good value. Comprises two cosy front rooms, each with a real fire, while towards the rear there is an enclosed heated courtyard with seating. There is stone flooring throughout and many photos of yesteryear adorn the walls, while a collection of water jugs cling to the ceiling. Sam Smith's own label spirits and fruit juices are also sold, together with Soil Association / Fairtrade approved products.
So here is looking forward to a few pints of OBB, and thus following the adage of one dear old friend of Cleveland CAMRA, "The more OBB drink, then the more money you save".
And good wishes to the Friends of the Anchor support group.
